WHOLE BODY VIBRATION AND WOBBLE BOARD TRAINING ON BALANCE IN POST STROKE HEMIPLEGIC PATIENTS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Neetika Katiyar, MPT Mrs. Monalisa Pattnaik, MPT, Asst. Prof. (PT) Dr. Patitapaban Mohanty, Ph. D., Assoc. Prof. (PT) Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, Olatpur, Bairoi, Cuttack,

Abstract:-

The balance and maintenance of postural control is a multisystem process incorporates the visual, vestibular and somatosensory input from afferent and efferent control strategies. Since stroke subjects often present with somatosensory deficits, stimulation of somatosensory system can be done by many ways to improve balance of stroke patients. There are many other researches in which results shows that whole body vibration and wobble board separately and in combination improve balance in stroke patients. So purpose of my study is to know that which is more effective in improving balance of stroke patients, whole body vibration or wobble board training.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of some New 4,4'-(1,4-Phenylene)bis(6-substituted-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile)derivatives as Anticancer and antiviral Agents.

Hassan M Faidallah* & Nawal M. S. Al.Kabkabi Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, P.O. Box 80203 Jeddah 21589, Saudi Arabia

Abstract:-

A series of 4,4'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(6-substituted-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile) and other heterocyclic systems have been synthesized via two synthetic strategies. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were substantiated by diverse spectroscopic and analytical data. The cytotoxic and antiviral activities of some of the prepared compounds were examined. The results reveled that some compounds have significant cytotoxic activity, while only four derivatives were able to inhibit the hepatitis-C virus RNA (+) and (–) strands at 10-100 μg/mL concentration range.
